What we Teach

At Power in Code, our courses blend technology with entrepreneurial skills. Through interactive workshops and project-based learning, students will study the fundamentals of web-design, startup strategies, and programming. Guided by our experienced instructors through every step of the process, from conceptualizing their own mock-up business model to coding their first fully-functional website.

Innovate

Students will start by brainstorming and generating creative ideas for their mock-up business model, often focusing on social impact

Wireframe

Wireframing is the stage where students create visual outlines of their ideas, planning the basic structure and layout to ensure a logical flow of information

Design

The next step is design, here students will grasp the fundamentals of UI/UX design, bringing their wireframes to life with colors, typography, and images, focusing on aesthetics and user experience

Code

Afterwards, students transform designs into functional websites or applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Debug

Students test and fix errors in their code, developing problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.

Publish

Finally, students will deploy their projects and present them, gaining real-world experience and a sense of accomplishment.

Programs

Power in Code offers a coding summer camp and after-school programs held at Visitation BVM School (300 E Lehigh Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125). We’ve also opened chapters at Masterman High School, Father Judge High School, Roman Catholic High School, Academy at Palumbo, and many more. Our goal is to provide all students with accessible, comprehensive coding lessons, helping them gain the skills they need to thrive in today’s digital world.
